This issue is one of the most intimate of all. Our story is quite typical – since 2010, we started off small, with just enough money to make ends meet. Careers especially designing never kick off with a bang just like that. It’ll always take much time and effort to shape up and to finally gain some needed support. We’ve been through that and we fully understand. We worked hard to see CUTOUT reach its five-year mark (tenth year by now!), and in this moment, it’s all worth the while.
So, here’s to all the small studios! This issue is about them – who are not afraid to fall and get up, who has an undying passion; and you – who might become your own boss and get inspired from this issue. We’ll be waiting for the moment when we can all shout “started from the bottom, now we’re here!”
